T he Defiance line of
auto security and keyless entry systems are for our network of
authorized dealers only. If you do not have a dealer number, call
our office to have an application sent to you. These products are
warrantied only when installed by an authorized dealer.
We recommend soldering all connections. Test
circuits with computer safe volt/ohm meter. Keep wires at minimum
length and away from all moving parts, linkages, and heat. If you
have questions, stop and call our tech line. The information
described in this manual is for reference only and may change
depending on the vehicle.
Control Module
Mount alarm module as high as possible to maximize
receiver range. Keep antenna straight and away from metal and wire
harnesses. Secure with tie wraps. Keep away from moving parts.
Siren
Mount siren in engine compartment away from moving parts,
linkages, heat sources, and direct exposure to water. Install with
two provided screws. Route siren wire through rubber grommet at
firewall to control module. Siren should face down so as not to
accumulate water.
Shock Sensor
For maximum performance, the sensor should be mounted on
a solid metal surface inside the vehicle. The steering column is
usually a good location. Keep sensor and wires away from moving
parts.
